Who We Are

Rev. Jacob Williams was born in an Orthodox Hindu family. In his early days of childhood he had many questions about faith. Slowly his thirst and search for the true God grew bigger and years later at the age of 21 on 31st august 1967, Jesus Christ appeared on the cross and said “Take the Cross and follow Me”,that was the moment and answer for his search. Immediately he accepted Christ as his personal saviour and then joined theological studies. After his studies, he sought God’s guidance and direction. Sooner he married sister Shanthi, who was already dedicated.

Los Angeles Both started their ministry life in Guduvancheri, the place of god’s vision. Years passed by but they had no children. They prayed with tears for four years and again God showed them a vision, to feed the orphan and poor children, whom He promised to, give their own.

There was a beginning of a new dawn to start an orphanage with seven children in a small rented thatched house. The Lord made them a testimony to stand for his glory besides all their trials and tribulations. God blessed the couple with 2 sons and a daughter. In due course of time they struggled financially. They had to shift almost 18 rented houses, since no one came forward to rent on long term basis because they were running an orphanage.

Rev. Jacob and Sis. Shanthi prayed without ceasing to own a place for the orphanage. Meanwhile Rev. Jacob had an opportunity to attend a conference in the USA. There he knew no one except the organisers. But before he left India he took all the plans for his future projects as the Lord spoke to him. God spoke to a women ( Sister. Jeannette) and she took Rev. Jacob to her house and blessed him and approved the plans. It was a miracle that God opened new way and everything was set to start.

After his visit he immediately started all the works required and established “The Indian Gospel Mission” in the year 1985, with 1 church and 1 orphanage. The honesty and sincerity of Rev. Jacob and his family, has brought IGM to greater heights.

Now IGM stands as a witness with abundance growth and so many new projects to follow soon. On April 14th 2012 Rev. Jacob went to be with the Lord. Though that was a great loss for this mission, but his leadership and guidance has helped his children Rev. Jabez P. Williams and his brother Rev. Jehoshaphat P. Williams ( Joe )to continue and put IGM to next level. Please Continue to pray and help the IGM.
